What business information is key for the cable industry?

The remaining cable length on a drum at the end of the site is a real KPI of the state of progress of the site allowing, among other things, to optimize the collection of empty or partially empty drums and in the latter case, to be able to reassign the residual lengths on another site.

 

What other information is needed?

To geolocalize the drums to optimize their use and protect against theft.

Calculation of the residual length

Calculating a residual length of cable using a simple rev counter is not enough because the drums have several life cycles: unwinding, rewinding, rolling on the ground to be moved from point A to point B without being unwound or rewound, and transport.

The only way to meet this business need is to use the proprietary ffly4u technology called "Edge AI Low Power®“. In other words, the integration of the technologies of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the device, capable of recognizing these different life cycles of the drum.

  • Detection of the “empty” state to know if the container is stored on site, unused and ready for return transport.
  • Detection of the “full” state to know how much time the sensitive goods are stored on site.

Washing time : 

The washing time measurement guarantees a high level of quality and allows to identify when a container is ready to be reintroduced into the logistics flow.

Whereas an unwashed container shows that there is still work to do and that the container can not be returned into the logistic chain.

Detection of the empty/full state

Thanks to a 3D accelerometer integrated into the device, it is possible to measure movement of side walls.

Washing time measurement

Only “Edge AI Low Power®” (integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in the device) makes possible to recognize the Karcher vibration on the container.

Shocks detection:

Our device integrates a 3D accelerometer to qualify shocks.

Temperature monitoring

A temperature sensor is integrated in the device. There are temperature alerts programmed to avoid damage of products due to too high/low temperature.
